Applying antihistamines like Zyrtec, Claritin, Clarinex or Allegra as soon as the hive rashes appear is an effective antidote to the pain and discomfort of the condition. However, in certain cases seld administration of such medicines could cause side effects like dizziness, blurred vision, anxiety, insomnia, constipation, diarrhea, tremor, nausea and vomiting. Hence, it is better to consult a doctor about treating hives.
