How to get rid of Bruises?



 

How bruises occur easily?

A bruise is a skin injury that ruptures the capillaries under your skin and causes blood to flow into the surrounding tissues. This gives rise to a reddish-purple appearance to the affected area. We all get bruised every now and then. However, children who run about and play and women in their periods are more likely to get bruises.


Some people are more susceptible to bruises than others. This could be due to several internal factors. You could get bruised at the slightest jolt if you have a deficiency of Vitamin C or Platelet and blood coagulation disorders.

How to handle bruises?

You must give a bruise a minimum time to heal. However, you could take certain steps to reduce the pain and quicken the healing process. You could apply an ice pack directly to the bruise to reduce inflammation. Alternately, you could make a cold compress out of some Play-Doh put in a zip-lock and placed in the freezer for some time.

Keeping the bruise elevated above the heart level could help reduce swelling as well. The pain could be brought down if you take Acetaminophen (Tylenol) following the instructions on the level. Applying Arnica cream or a Vitamin A/K cream is a good antidote to swelling. You could try pouring molten chocolate over the bruise and tying the area in gauge to get better results.

How to cover up bruises ?

Although you might overcome the pain and swelling of a bruise, the ugly scar it leaves behind might cause embarrassment when you step outdoors. If the bruise in on your hand or leg, you could hide it easily under your clothes. However, you would need a little cover-up make up to camouflage the bruise that has stained your face. You simply need to pick up the right color from any local cosmetic counter.
