Me and my Back Pain, both cannot go together
You should never ignore back pain because at its worse, it could make it difficult for you to even sit up straight. Many suffering from chronic back pain become dependent on painkillers creating long-term health complications.
If you undertake some basic precautions at home, you could root out back pain at its very inception.
Various types of back pain
However, first you have to understand the nature of the pain. A back pain could result from a sudden sprain or muscle injury that could last from a few days to a few weeks.
But if you continue to feel a stabbing pain even after the third month, it could be because of faulty sleeping or sitting postures. A dull pain or debilitating spasms could also result from lifting heavy loads over a period.
How to prevent back pain?
- You could avoid normal back strains if you use your legs rather than your back to lift up things by bending at your knees instead of your waist while stooping.
- If your job requires you to stand continuously, relax your stiffened back muscles by putting one foot at a time on a low stool and switching feet periodically.
- Similarly, if you have to sit for long hours throughout the day, keep changing positions. Let your back lean to gain support of the chair and settle into a gentile, relaxed curve.
- Take breaks to get up and walk around, stretching your back from side to side. Use a firm mattress on your bed to provide healthy support to your back while sleeping.
Common remedies for back pain
You could relive back pain and strengthen back muscles by exercising regularly. A regular aerobics session or yoga session is extremely helpful.
Indulge in activities like walking and swimming. And finally, get rid of obesity as an excess weight leads to back pain.
