Tapotement Benefits and Usage


The tapotement is technical massage. The tapotement is the fast and stimulating movements of massage are cupping, hacking, and pincer like movements. Tapotement is a specific stroke used in Swedish massage technique. The tapotement is used for the perfection to keep the hands and wrists relaxed.  Tapotement movements may be applied to the fleshy parts of the body. Tapotement is used in conjunction with sports massage. The tapotement should not be done over a fresh bruise, strain, sprain area. The tapotement massage technique is very easy and helpful also. The movement consists of stroking the skin with sides of the hands and partly-flat finger tips.

The movement is usually carried out with the hands freely swinging from the wrist. It helps increase in blood circulation. The movement should not be done when the person is suffering from high blood pressure and heart disease.

Massage in which the body is tapped rhythmically with the fingers. The tapotement device have an external shell fabricated from a pliant material which covers an internal core fabricated from a soft batting material. Tapotement techniques are used to achieve the purpose of any particular treatment. This technique is not used in the area of the body as kidneys, popliteal area, neck, auxiliary area. The tapotement massage require certain duration. This massage contain certain benefits and also the harmful effects. The tapotement device for massage therapy use as a training device for domestic animals.

Tapotement techniques

  • Cupping - This method is good for stimulating and invigorating massage. The cupping technique may deliver a bit more force to the area and to the tissues below. Cupping is used for clearing lung congestion.
  • Hacking - The hacking movement is brisk working rhythmically  over very relaxed wrists and figures. Use the sides of the palm for the hacking movement. Hacking helps in toning up the muscles and dispersing the fluids.
  • Vibration - Vibration is rapid movement that produces a trembling effect. It is used in sports for its ability to relax.
  • Pummelling - The pummelling movements for wrists are loose and both hands are used to strike the body alternately - working up to a rate of approximate. 6-10 contacts per second.
