Effleurage Benefits and Methods



 

Effleurage is a massage used to warm up the muscle. Effleurage is very effective massage and sometimes used as a treatment. This massage is done for short, long duration depending on the therapists. Effleurage massage is widely used. Effleurage means long, soothing, stroking  movements. Effleurage massage is applied by passing the flat of the hand or other flat surface. Effleurage is suitable for use any area of the body. There are two types of effleurage massage and they are Light Effleurage in which it is done by full hand contact with very little pressure and Deep Effleurage in which this stroke creates a very slight ripple of the skin. 


Effleurage movement leaves relaxing, soothing, gentle, stroking, circular effect. Massage is carried out with pad of finger tips or palms of hands. It increases the blood circulation and strengthens the scalp tissues. Effleurage is introductory manipulation, used on hair lines by one or both hands or with pads of the thumb. Preferably apply pressure on various blood vessels.

Effleurage may be used with varying pressure according to the purpose and stage reached during the massage. Effleurage is includes kneading, squeezing, and friction. Effleurage is very easy to do and for this massage uses massage oil, cream. The forearm is applied over a portion of the body or body part. This is mostly used women during pregnancy. By doing the effleurage massage we can feel better.

The fingers precede the palm of the hand. It is moved along the body and they do apply pressure. The pressure during this movement is applied by the palm of the hand. Effleurage slow massage is used for the body relax and fast massage is used for the stimulating. It is used between all other massage strokes and aids lymphatic drainage and venous blood circulation. This massage is beneficial for the regulation, stimulation, mental health and some factors. These can be exceptionally uncomfortable when massaged and should be massaged very gently.
